11-YEAR-OLD GIRL FORCED TO MARRY HER RAPIST IN FLORIDA

Recently the New York Times published the shocking story of Sherry Johnson.

Johnson was raped by a 20-year-old member of her church and became pregnant in Florida and learned very quickly that Christianity can be very evil and cruel to its adherents.

“It was forced on me,” she told the Times

(See, authorities had begun sniffing around because she was pregnant with a 20-year-old’s child, so church official made the decision that the best way to avoid embarrassment was to marry her off to her rapist).

Stupid parents:

"My mom asked me if I wanted to get married, and I said, ‘I don’t know, what is marriage, how do I act like a wife?’” Johnson remembers today, many years later. “She said, ‘Well, I guess you’re just going to get married.’"

So she was. A government clerk in Tampa, Fla., refused to marry an 11-year-old, even though this was legal in the state, so the wedding party went to nearby Pinellas County, where the clerk issued a marriage license.

"Johnson was raped by both a minister and a parishioner, and the judge approved the marriage to the rapist who caused her to give birth at the age of 10 so that the investigation would end," reports Oppositionreports.com.

“What we want is for you to get married,” the judge told her.

“It was a terrible life,” Johnson says, noting that she missed school and spent her time changing diapers for what would eventually be nine children. Her husband would occasionally disappear and leave her to deal with everything.

“They took the handcuffs from handcuffing him,” she says.

"How can this happen? Because it’s perfectly legal. In most states, it is perfectly legal for a man to marry a child. While some have at least passed laws limiting the age to 16 or 17 and above, most have no limit whatsoever. Child marriage, which the United States condemned in other countries as a “human rights abuse that contributes to economic hardship” in a State Department document last year, is a practice that must end," says John Prager

This story is very shocking and alarming. It is terrible if someone marries an 11-year-old child. At this age the children are immature for a sexual life. And the marriage is particularly alarming because then the children often have no chance to learn. In Germany, a 14-year-old teenager can have sex. This is a normal age, but not for marriage. Marriage is very difficult as a social element.

Florida is a part of the Western world... And many Florida residents are laughing at the Muslims who marry immature children... Do not they know that this is happening in their own state?

Sex with immature children must be strictly forbidden! The pedophiles must be severely punished!

The religions must not rape our children!

I appreciate who ever has highlighted this. Forcing the victim to marry the rapist instead of hanging the culprit encourages more people to do it. Now if a guy wants a girl, he will allegedly rape her cuz this case has proven that there is no justice for FEMALE GENDER, and courts will force hee to mrry him. Rape is equal to brutally murdering a soul.

    2. Yeah, because the NY Times, NPR & other reliable news organizations are just dreaming up ways to make religious nuts look bad. /sarcasm

Child marriage IS a problem in the U.S. You've just got your head in the sand.

    2. No, it's not. There was an article just the other day about ending child marriage in the U.S.

  6. There are rooms upon rooms of writers in former soviet block countries that manufacture fake news 24/7 for the American market. They take a few key words from your FB feed and create a scare story.

  7. So child rape is legal if you marry the victim?! For all the talk about "Age of Consent laws," this sure is a gaping loophole for predators to get by with blatant child abuse. The ONLY people this benefits are pedophiles & the "ashamed" families of rape victims who care more about their own reputations than their traumatized child's psyche.

What about protecting children from abuse? Marriage doesn't stop a predator from preying on other children. It just rewards him with a young, malleable child bride to treat as his slave. This is modern-day slavery in America.

My great-grandma was married at 13 to a much older man. Her life was hard, and that was a different time. We don't have to allow this barbaric tradition to continue in modern America. And we shouldn't. Forcing a child to marry her rapist is like pouring salt in the wound...a constant re-traumatizing every minute of every day. HOW CAN THIS BE LEGAL IN A DEVELOPED NATION?
